As the character limit on Twitter got expanded to 280 from 140, football clubs across the world including Manchester City, Manchester United and AC Milan welcomed the change by posting sassy tweets.

After running a successful trial with few users, Twitter has finally rolled out its new 280-character limit virtually for all users. In September, Twitter launched a test that expanded the 140-character limit so that users could express themselves easily in a tweet.

The tweet that tops them all is City remembering Sergio Aguero’s last-gasp winner against Queens Park Rangers to clinch the Premier League title, pipping cross-town rivals, United in 2012. City tweeted, “280 characters means we can now go…AGUEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO”

While AC Milan took the opportunity to write in one tweet all the trophies they’ve won, the Red Devils discussed whether they should change #DaveSaves to #DavidSaves.
