Former Australian cricketer Tim Paine is set to be the coach of Prime Ministers XI who will take on India in a 2-day warm-up game at Canberra (Day-Night Test) between the first Test in Perth and the second Test in Adelaide (Day-Night Test). The former skipper said that he would like to see the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli participate in the game.

“Hopefully, they (India) will approach it with some of their best players, and they have got some of the best players in the world. They had a tough time when they played against the pink ball in the Adelaide Test (2020-21) so hopefully for the game’s sake and Canberra cricket fans’ sake, we get to see some of the best players in the world like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, some of their best players will be on display,” Paine said as quoted by Cricket ACT.

On his coaching role Pain Said: “I think for a young coach like myself, any chance that you get to lead a team is a great opportunity, so I am looking forward to that. I’m looking forward to working with some of our most talented young cricketers around Australia as well so, it will be good fun.”
