In one of the most interesting and hilarious tosses in recent memory, India captain Suryakumar Yadav opted to bat and then couldn’t for the life of him remember one of the two changes that the Men in Blue had made in the Asia Cup match vs Oman on Friday.

‘We have two changes – Harshit comes in, one more guy comes in. And and oh my god, I have become like Rohit,” Surya said at the toss with a laugh. For the uninitiated, former India T20I captain Rohit Sharma has been notorious for forgetting some information during interactions.

It was earnt a bit later that the other change that Surya was talking about was Arshdeep Singh. And forgetting names was so infectious on Friday, that even the Oman captain Jatinder Singh forgot the name of the players in his team’s changes.

Earlier, Surya said that they chose to bat first because they haven’t batted first in the tournament so far so he’ll be hoping for some game time for the batters going into the Super 4s.

“We are looking to bat first. We have not batted first in this competition and we want to know our depth. Having game time is important going into the Super 4s. We want to continue the good habits we are doing in the first two games and want to continue to do that. It is looking nice and our openers will assess it further,” he said.

India made two changes to the team with Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh coming in for Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy against Oman. This is the Men in Blue’s last Group Stage match and they will next move on to the Super 4s where they play Pakistan in the first match of the next round on September 21. Then there are also matches vs Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
