Australia spinner Nathan Lyon has revealed that the young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal had also sledged him in the first Test at Perth.

“You’re a legend, but you’re old,” Lyon revealed Jaiswal’s sledge on SEN 1170 The Run Home with Joel and Fletch.

Lyon also revealed his response to the 22-year-old.

“Appreciate that, mate, but I don’t feel that old,” Lyon said.

India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal had also sledged Australian left-arm quick Mitchell Starc during his extraordinary 161 in the first Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy in Perth.

“You are bowling too slow,” Jaiswal had told Starc.

However, Starc on the eve of the second Test has said that he didn’t hear Jaiswal’s speed sledge in Perth.

“I didn’t actually hear him say I bowled too slow. I don’t say too much to people these days. I may have been back in the day, but now I just sort of get on with it. Played that flick shot and I think I bowled pretty much the same ball, and he defended it. I said where the flick shot is, and he laughed at me, and we just left it at that,” Starc said in an interaction with cricket.com.au.

The second Test between Australia and India begins Friday at the Adelaide Oval.
