(AP | PTI)Kamran Akmal has apologised for his crude joke he made on Arshdeep Singh and Sikh religion while analysing the recent T20 World Cup clash between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan in new York.
In a video going viral on the social media, Akmal was seen making fun of Arshdeep’s religion, which prompted a furious response from former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh.
“I deeply regret my recent comments and sincerely apologise to Harbhajan Singh and the Sikh community,” Akmal posted on X.

Akmal’s remarks when the left-arm seamer was bowling the last over in their chase of 120. With Pakistan needing 17 runs to win the last over, Arshdeep performed the task to perfection, sealing a six-run win over the arch-rivals.
“Kuch bhi ho sakta hai… Dekhe last over karna Arshdeep Singh ne hai. Waise uska rhythm nahi laga. 12 baj gaye hai (Anything can happen. The last over will be bowled by Arshdeep Singh; he hasn’t looked in a great rhythm. And It is already 12),” Akmal had said, while analysing the match on ARY News.
In the video reposted by Harbhajan, Akmal was also seen laughing with other panelists on the show. The Indian off-spinner lashed out at Akmal.
