BCCI has asked foreign support staff Trevor Penny and Joe Dawes to report to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore in a week’s time.
It is learnt that BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel has sent an email to Dawes and Penny to report back to India. They had been asked to go on leave after the disastrous Test series in England.
The BCCI wants the current support staff of Sanjay Bangar, N Sridhar and Bharat Arun to continue for the next series against the West Indies after they were praised by the Indian players.
Board secretary Patel had already stated that the BCCI’s working committee will decide the fate of Penny and Dawes, but in the meantime they have been asked to assist at the NCA.
“The BCCI has asked Dawes and Penny to be at the NCA where they will be assisting other coaches.”
Their contract is till the World Cup next year, so we want them to help other coaches in Bangalore. We don’t know what the working committee will decide but for the time being they have been asked to be in India,” a BCCI official said.
