PV Sindhu loses to South Korea’s Sung Ji Hyun in the BWF World Super Series Finals semi-final in Dubai on Saturday. After losing the first game 15-21, Sindhu staged a fightback to seal the second 21-18 but wasn’t able to match her opponent in the deciding third game, which she lost 15-21. Sindhu had earlier defeated Ji Hyun 11-21, 23-21, 21-19 in 84 minutes to enter the China Open final in November but was unable to beat her opponent on Saturday. Earlier in the tournament, Sindhu managed to take her revenge of the heart-breaking loss at the Rio Olympics to two-time World Champion Carolina Marin of Spain with a thrilling straight-sets victory in do-or-die women’s singles Group B contest.
