After Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, another Indian celebrity couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh reached Italy to solemnise their relationship in presence of family and close friends. The couple tied the knot on Wednesday at the picturesque Villa del Balbianello at Lake Como.

Former Indian star shuttler Prakash Padukone looked as graceful as ever as he arrived at the wedding of his daughter on Wednesday. The couple exchanged vows in the presence of family and close friends at a resort overlooking Lake Como.

In an interview with India Today last month, Prakash Padukone had said that the way weddings are being conducted these days have completely changed. The former badminton player said, “Today, the bride and the groom decide everything, both the parents just tag along.”

His daughter Deepika, who was also state-level badminton player as a youngster, said that she drew her inspiration from her parents, who share a ‘beautiful relationship’. The 32-year-old actress said, “I have seen my parents do it so well and so successfully and for me that’s the way I would like my married life to be as well.” She added that her parents have set an ‘amazing benchmark’ for her and her sibling.

Prakash Padukone said that he feels proud when others refer him as Deepika’s father.

The former India team coach said that it is a moment of pride whenever he is referred to as Deepika’s father. “It’s a moment of pride for any parent, when their child has achieved so much.”

The couple will host a wedding reception in Bengaluru, which is Deepika’s hometown, on November 21 after returning from Italy.
