A 28-year-old married woman was allegedly raped by two persons near a sugar mill at Mori gate here, police said today. The victim, who works as a domestic help, had yesterday left home for work at Mori gate when she was stopped and abducted by two motorcycle-borne persons who took her to a room near the mill.
After committing the crime the accused fled the spot, threatening the victim with dire consequences if she revealed the incident to anyone, police said. She was taken to hospital where her medical examination confirmed rape, police said.
A case has been registered and police have launched a hunt to the arrest the accused.
