Steering clear of the speculation regarding his induction into the Union Cabinet,LJP president Ram Vilas Paswan on Wednesday said he has made a political decision to not become a minister and instead act as the Opposition in his new role as a Rajya Sabha member.
It (joining Cabinet) is completely wrong (speculation). I will play the role of the Opposition and I will try to raise the issues concerning Dalits, backward classes and minorities in the Rajya Sabha, Paswan told reporters in response to queries regarding the speculation of him joining the Cabinet.
It is a political decision to not become a minister…. LJP-RJD alliance is rock solid. We wanted CPI to be part of the alliance, but they appear to be planning to go alone in the Bihar polls. LJP-RJD alliance will contest all the seats in the Bihar elections, Paswan said.
He took a dig at the Congress in Bihar saying,Congress is trying to revive there (Bihar) while we (RJD-LJP) are trying to form a government. There is a difference between reviving and forming a government.
Paswan announced that he with Lalu Prasad will undertake a 10-day long mass contact programme in Bihar during July 16-July 25.
