Public sector lender Union Bank of India UBI said its net profit declined by 20.48 per cent to Rs 534.13 crore for the third quarter ended December over the same period in the previous fiscal.
Total income rose to Rs 3,758.32 crore during the quarter under review against Rs 3,653.79 crore in the same quarter last fiscal,the bank said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The bank earned an interest of Rs 3,293.55 crore during the quarter against Rs 3,258.40 crore for the same period last fiscal.
For the nine months ended December,the bank posted a net profit of Rs 1,481.42 crore against Rs 1,261.49 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
Shares of UBI were trading at Rs 261.25 on BSE,down 1.82 per cent from its previous close.
