The Congress has urged its UPA allies to adhere to the principle of coalition politics,but the Trinamool is sending representatives to attend the swearing-in ceremonies of the SAD-BJP government in Punjab and the SP government in Uttar Pradesh.

Political observers said TMC chief Mamata Banerjee decided to send representatives to mount pressure on the Congress to earn sops for Bengal in the Budget. Bengal Tourism Minister Rachpal Singh will attend the swearing-in of SADs Parkash Singh Badal on March 14,while MP Sultan Ahmed will go to Lucknow for Akhilesh Yadavs swearing-in on March 15.
