Michael Schumacher has rubbished reports that he could quit the sport for a second time.

Seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher has rubbished reports that he could quit the sport for a second time at the end of the season.

Schumacher, who has collected just 32 points so far in 2011-12 season, said that he is still fit and mentally ready for the challenge of winning his eighth title.

Despite some funny rumours and stupid, untruthful stories,I keep repeating myself, that you will see me in 2012 whether you like it or dont like it, the Sun quoted Schumacher,as saying.

I will be here and the good thing is I have a lot of support from all around,in particular from the company and the team. They all wish for me to be here and I wish to be here. I am looking forward to it, he added.

The 42-year-old is enduring another disappointing season with Mercedes and has been unable to challenge at the front.

Gossip about a repeat retirement has been triggered by a report in an Italian newspaper.

It quoted Schumacher as saying that he no longer felt he had the right mindset for Mercedes and would soon be evaluating whether to continue or stop.
