The company's rival BMW India had posted 13 per cent increase in car sales to 11,105 units in 2018, compared with 9,800 units in the previous year, while Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover reported 16.23 per cent increase in its 2018 sales.
Mercedes-Benz India managing director and chief executive Roland Folger said, " By 2040, the whole world will be driving home hydrogen cars. To me the whole plan to go electric nationwide looks like a rushed with idea."
German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz launched AMG GT R in India with prices starting at Rs 2.23 crore (ex-showroom). The company also introduced AMG GT Roadster at a starting price of Rs 2.19 crore. With these launches, Mercedes-Benz now has 12 AMG models in India.
In the latest addition to its AMG lineup in India, Mercedes-Benz has launched the GLC 43 AMG Coupe. Priced at Rs 74.80 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This is the third variant in the AMG family to make its way to India.
