GANDHINAGAR, April 29: The Gujarat Government is going to have a website on the Internet from Friday. It will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel on Friday. The address is gujaratindia.com.

The website will be updated constantly at a room in the Chief Minister’s Office at Sachivalaya. The room will have 40 terminals.

Addressing his weekly news conference on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said about 2 crore people could have a access to the website, which will provide information about development activities in different sectors.

The addresses and telephone numbers of ministers would also be available on the website and anyone could seek information. Replies would be sent by e-mail within 24 hours and, if the next day was a holiday, on the next working day.

Principal secretary to chief minister P K Laheri said it was a low-cost project, involving an initial expenditure of only Rs 30 lakh to 35 lakh.

It would be linked with the Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited. Initially, 30 persons could have access to the website at a time.
