Wagh had stayed overnight at the ‘Sinhagad’ building in the state government’s rest house complex at Golf Club,Nashik,on Monday with his personal assistant Mahesh Mali. The complaint said the woman was called by the MLA from Aurangabad on the pretext of finding her a job. She also alleged that the MLA had raped her and threatened her of dire consequences if she complained against him. The woman had filed a written complaint on Tuesday, but the police registered the first information report only on Thursday night.

Wagh,45,was the president of the municipal council in Pachora for six terms before getting elected as an MLA in 2009.

Leader of the Opposition Eknath Khadse had demanded a CID inquiry into the case.
