Floodwaters have started receding in several places across Haryana even as relief work continues in affected areas. At least 13 districts including Ambala, Fatehabad, Faridabad, Jhajjar and Kaithal continue to be heavily affected with flood waters. Medical camps set up by the state government to prevent any disease outbreak have started to receive cases of snake bites and gastroenteritis, besides dysentry and conjunctivitis. Thousands of hectares of farmland continue to remain waterlogged in several districts including Ambala, Yamunanagar, Karnal, Palwal, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Panipat, Sonipat, Sirsa and Jhajjar. According to the flood-bulletin released by the health department on Saturday evening, there are still 416 villages affected by floods, while 32 areas are affected in urban areas. Meanwhile, deputy CM Dushyant Chautala on Saturday toured Faridabad district and directed officials to expedite relief and rescue measures.
