A helicopter carrying seven people, mostly pilgrims, made an emergency landing in Uttarakhand’s Kedarnath after developing a technical snag. It had taken off from the Sirsi helipad for Kedarnath early Friday.
A purported video of the incident shows the helicopter moving around in circles a few metres above the helipad, before touching down near a Himalayan temple, causing panic to people on the ground.

However, everyone on board is safe, reported news agency PTI, citing an official.
On the basis preliminary reports, Rudraprayag District Magistrate Saurabh Gaharwar added that the helicopter had developed a snag in its rear motor, prompting the pilot to make the landing.
The pilot kept remained cool and took a quick decision, averting a major mishap, Gaharwar added. The incident occurred around 7 am and further investigations are underway.
