TBSE exam schedules: Class 12 exams from March 1, Class 10 exams from March 2 in Tripura

Nearly 38,559 students have registered for Class 10 examinations and nearly 27,627 students for Class 12 examinations.

The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) on Tuesday declared the Class 12 and Class 10 examination schedules and said the senior secondary and matriculation-level examinations would start on March 1 and 2 next year, respectively.

Speaking to reporters, TBSE chief Dhananjoy Gon Choudhury said, “The Class 12 exams will continue for 13 days and the Class 10 exams for six days. Sixty-nine centres and 144 venues are being set up for the Class 10 board exam. For Class 12, 60 centres and 98 venues are being set up.”

The Class 12 examinations are scheduled to begin with the English paper, followed by the language papers—Bangla, Hindi, Kokborok, Mizo—on March 4, chemistry and political science on March 6, business studies, education and physics on March 9, accountancy, biology, history on March 11, mathematics and philosophy on March 13, economics on March 15, psychology on March 18, geography on March 20, Sanskrit, Arabic and statistics on March 22, sociology on March 26, computer science and music on March 28 and vocational subjects on March 30.

Gon Choudhury said the Class 10 examinations would begin on March 2 with the English paper, followed by the language papers on March 7, social science (history and political science) and social science (economics and geography) on March 12, science (physics, chemistry, biology) on March 16, mathematics basics and standard on March 21 and optional subjects on March 23.

Nearly 38,559 students have registered for Class 10 examinations and nearly 27,627 students for Class 12 examinations, TBSE secretary Dulal Dey said.

“We will get the exact number of regular candidates who will appear for both the board examinations after they fill up examination forms. They can apply online from January 5 to 20,” Dey said.

As many as 43,730 candidates appeared for Class 10 exams and 38,125 appeared for Class 12 examinations this year.

Explaining the potential decline this year, the TBSE secretary said the number decreased after some schools came under the Vidyajyoti scheme last year. “For this, we made 56 new venues for Class 10 and 39 for Class 12,” Dey said.
