Talking to the media on Wednesday, Chief Minister Dhami said that the government has received the report of the committee constituted for land law, which will soon be placed in the cabinet meeting. He said that his government is committed to implementing strong land laws in the state according to the sentiments of the people.
Clarifying the situation regarding the strong land law in the state, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the government is fully prepared and committed to implementing the land law, and informed that this proposal will be put up in the cabinet meeting soon.

CM Dhami also said that it would be better if the illegal encroachers themselves leave the encroachment. He has clearly told all the District Magistrates that the illegal settlers should be removed without any political or social pressure.
As per the state government, geographically, 71 per cent of the area in the state of Uttarakhand is forest land, where most illegal encroachers are settled.
