Vishal’s sister, Barkha (27), said: “I saw him last on February 27 and he has not stayed in touch. Sunday night, after 10 pm, Delhi Police came and threatened me,” she said, before leaving and locking up the house in Gurgaon’s Mahavir Pura. His two brothers work as painters.
Pointing to a motorcycle before Vishal’s house, neighbours say he would roam around and talk little.

“I saw him grow up and he was the only boy in the family to go to school, but after 10, he stopped. He would greet us whenever he passed by, but since last year, his visits have become rare. I have not seen him since Diwali,” said neighbour Babita, 47.
Azab Kaur, 48, living next door, said: “Their father Mange Ram has been here since his birth. The family is not financially sound and everyone does odd jobs… we don’t talk,” she said. Mahavir, his uncle, said they had not talked to each other since his father’s death six years ago. “We have a property dispute going on and I don’t talk to him, he said.”
