‘India-Russia friendship higher than highest mountain, deeper than deepest ocean’: Rajnath Singh meets Vladimir Putin

The Defence Minister assured President Putin that India has always stood by its Russian friends and will continue to do so in the future.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met Russian President Vladimir Putin at Kremlin on Tuesday. Singh, who is on a three-day official visit to Russia, arrived in Moscow on Sunday night.

The two leaders noted that the India-Russia partnership holds immense potential and that their combined efforts will lead to “remarkable outcomes”.

“Friendship between our countries is higher than the highest mountain and deeper than the deepest ocean,” Singh said during the meeting.

The Defence Minister assured President Putin that India has always stood by its Russian friends and will continue to do so in the future.

Singh also extended warm greetings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to President Putin.

“The Defence Minister discussed various issues of bilateral defence cooperation,” the Defence Ministry said in a statement. “Both leaders expressed that the partnership between the two countries holds immense potential and that combined efforts will pave the way for remarkable outcomes,” it added.

Singh met with President Putin after co-chairing the 21st session of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Military and Military Cooperation with his Russian counterpart, Andrey Belousov.

The Indian Defence Minister is currently on a three-day visit to Russia.
