Woman attempts self immolation; succumbs to injuries

A woman,who attempted self- immolation over a family dispute,today died of burn injuries here.

A woman,who attempted self- immolation over a family dispute,today died of burn injuries here,police said.

Deepika Sharma (22) poured kerosene over herself in front of her husband Rohit’s workplace in Bhatindi last night,Bhatindi’s Sub-Inspector Shiv Devi Singh said.

She was later rushed to a hospital with 70 per cent burn injuries where she succumbed to death this morning,Singh said.

Deepika allegedly had strained relationship with her husband whom she married last year. She was living separately since November,he said.

A case has been registered in this connection and her in-laws and husband have been called for questioning,he added.
