Two students killed in Andhra as rifle goes off accidentally

Two students were killed on Wednesday and two others got injured when the rifle of a policeman went off accidentally during a weapon demonstration in Khammam district of Andhra Pradesh.

As part of the police commemoration week that began on October 15,police personnel were giving a demonstration of communication equipment and weapons to students at Velairpadu village in the district,when the incident occurred,police said.

The policeman was giving a demo on loading and unloading the weapon,when it went off by mistake,killing a tenth and eight standard students,who were identified as Venkatkrishna and Saibaba respectively,they said.

Two other students have been injured in the incident and were admitted to a government hospital at Khammam,police said adding that the condition of one of them is critical.
