Station master,porter kidnapped by Maoists in Bihar

Maoists kidnapped the two apparently to teach them a lesson for defying their bandh call.

Maoists today abducted the station master and a porter from the Ghorparan Railway Station in Bihar’s Jamui district.

A dozen armed Maoists abducted station master Vijay Kumar and porter Dukhan Mahto at gunpoint from the station which falls between Madhupur and Jha Jha,Jamalpur’s Railway Police Superintendent Amitabh Das said.

“It is a big concern and all efforts are being made to locate these two members of the railway family,” Railway Minister Mukul Roy told PTI in Kolkata.

“We have spoken to the Bihar Home Secretary and the Inspector General of RPF has talked to the Bihar DGP,” Roy said.

The chairman of the Railway Board was also in touch with the Bihar government and the Union Home Ministry,he said.

Train services disrupted on the Howrah-Delhi Main line after the incident at 10:30 hours resumed at 14:02 hours,the Railway Minister said.
