“There are a large number of instances of unprovoked stone-pelting by hostile mobs on CRPF that has left 1500 jawans injured and close to 400 vehicles damaged in the last one-and-a-half year,” Tripathi said.

The “gunless terror”,sponsored by Pakistan,is aimed at disturbing peace and tranquillity in the state and rest of the country,he said.

Though militant violence has come down, the law and order situation has deteriorated due to rising incidents of stone-hurling,the CRPF officer said.

The force is exercising restraint in tackling such situations,he said and claimed there are no complaints of violations of human rights against the CRPF till now.
