Not charging any fees from Binayak Sen,says Jethmalani

Jethmalani,however,said the police cooperated well to take them from the mob at the airport.

Amidst Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) volunteers protest against BJP Rajya sabha member Ram Jethmalani for defending rights activist Binayak Sen,the senior lawyer told the Chhattisgarh High court that a hostile mob had raised slogans referring him as a ‘traitor” when he arrived at the Mana airport on Sunday night.

“We were greeted by a hostile mob carrying black flags. They called me a traitor. They wanted me to go back. They accused me of taking up this case for some money”,Jethmalani told an open court of division Bench comprising Justice T P Sharma and R L Jhanwar.

When Justice T P Sharma asked how it was related with this case,the senior lawyer said “I came to know later that the leader of the hostile mob was a practicing lawyer of this court. This constitutes interference in the administration of justice”.

He,however,said the police cooperated well to take them from the mob at the airport.

“I am making it clear. Neither me nor my juniors are not charging a single penny for appearing in this case”,he maintained.

Additional advocate general Kishore Bharduri said the police had given proper protection to all concerned.
