Joining issue with noted Malayalam writer Paul Zacharia,Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan on Wednesday said he cannot not agree with the views expressed by him about early communist leaders.
Answering a query in this regard during a cabinet meeting here,Achuthanandan,however,said every citizen has the right to express their views.
‘We are not denying it,’ he said when asked about the attack allegedly by DYFI activists on Zacharia at Payyannur in north Kerala last week.
CPI-M state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan had said the incident was sparked by derogatory comments the writer made on the Communist icons of Kerala during his speech. Denying that he had made any such comments,Zacharia had stated that Vijayan’s version of the incident was “totally untrue”.
