Local train collides with goods train loaded with petrol,7 hurt

Seven people were injured when a Delhi-bound passenger train hit a goods train loaded with petrol near Ghaziabad railway station.

Seven persons,including a driver and a guard,were injured when a Delhi-bound passenger train hit a goods train loaded with petrol near Ghaziabad railway station,officials said on Saturday.

The 310 Ambala Saharanpur Nizammuddin passenger train was on its way to Nizammuddin railway station in Delhi when the accident took place at around 11.50 pm on Friday night,a Railways spokesperson,A S Negi said.

The goods train,on its way from from Najibabad to Asaoti,was on a halt at a signal when the passenger train hit it from behind.

The guard of the goods train,R K Sham and the assistant driver of the passenger train were injured and have been admitted to Sarvodaya hospital in Ghaziabad. Five injured passengers have been taken to MNG and Yashoda hospital.
