Jammu and Kashmir government is planning to introduce modern gadgets to prevent attacks by wild animals.

Jammu and Kashmir government is planning to introduce modern gadgets to prevent attacks by wild animals in which 56 people have lost their lives and over 600 suffered injuries in the last three years.

“The government is initiating some more steps to strengthen the Wildlife department with latest technology and equipment for the protection of human lives from the attacks of wild animals,” Forest Minister Mian Altaf Ahmad said.

He asked the officials to take the immediate measures to prevent the man-animal conflict.

Experts say the man-animal conflict occurs when wildlife requirements overlap with those of human population.

A compensation of Rs 19.40 lakh has been distributed among 45 of the 56 families of the deceased and 415 injured people.

The Himalayan Black Bear,which is mainly found in the mountainous upper reaches of north and south Kashmir,are often found involved in attacks on humans in villages which are mostly close to mountains.
