Jharkhand will have new industrial policy

The Jharkhand Government on Friday said a new industrial policy would be in place and was contemplating to revise the state's Rehabilitation Policy soon.

The Jharkhand Government on Friday said a new industrial policy would be in place and was contemplating to revise the state’s Rehabilitation Policy soon.

“To motivate and trigger off the industrilisation process,a new Industrial Policy shall be formulated very soon,” Governor K Sankaranarayanan said in his address to the newly constituted state assembly as he outlined the government’s priorities.

“Rehabilitation Policy,2008 is already in place in the state which may be revised suitably,” he added.

To increase employment generation,the Governor said priority was being accorded for expansion and development of the silk and lac related industries.

“Our government shall give thrust and create a conducive environment for labour intensive industrialization to enhance employment opportunities in the state,” he said.

To rope in the benefits of a full fledged tourism industry,the Jharkhand Tourism Policy,Jharkhand Paryatan Protsahan Bhumi Niti and Jharkhand Paryatan Awashan Yojna would be finalised soon.

“…Facilities such as information centres,restaurants,cottage and handloom emporiums,boarding and lodging and ATM counters will be provided to the tourists,” he added.

To ensure rural economic development,work is on in additional 5,200 KM approach roads.
