Famous shrine to be developed to boost tourism in J-K

Shrine of Sultan Ali at Pakharpora in Budgam district would be undertaken for development.

In a bid to promote tourism in the state,the revered shrine of Sultan Ali at Pakharpora in Budgam district of central Kashmir would be undertaken for development,a senior minister said here.

Around Rs four crore has been earmarked to Yusmarg Development Authority for creating basic infrastructure for pilgrims and tourists visiting the famous shrine of Sultan Ali,40 kms from here,Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather said here on Wednesday.

A comprehensive road connectivity has been undertaken to link all the remote and inaccessible villages with the main trunk roads to give fillip to economic activities for improving the living conditions of Kandi belt,he said.

Two vital bridges are under construction to connect Darwan-Chuntinar with Watakallo and Dajan-Nowgam-Brenpathry-Hafroo-Batapora for better connectivity,he said.

He called upon the people to cooperate with the administration and executing agencies to help government in speedy socio-economic transformation of the State.

“Peace and tranquillity is imperative to achieve the goal. Every citizen of the State have a right of equal opportunities of development and prosperities,” he said and reaffirmed his government’s resolve for uniform development and equal social justice to the people in all the three regions of the State.

“Our endeavour is to provide all the basic and modern facilities to the people of the backward areas at par with the cities of the State,” Rather said.
