BJP sends show cause notices to party functionaries in Ukhd

State general secretary Tirath Singh Rawat has confirmed that the party has initiated disciplinary action against some of the functionaries.

In a swift move against lower rung BJP functionaries who had come out in open support of former Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshiyari after he tendered his resignation from Rajya Sabha on Wednesday,the BJP leadership has issued show cause notices to 21 persons.

According to sources,those,who have been issued show cause notices by the state unit President Bacchi Singh Rawat include Gajraj Singh Bisht who resigned as the chief of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM),in-charge of Pithoragarh city unit of the party Rajendra Rawat and state working committee member Rajesh Shukla.

State general secretary Tirath Singh Rawat has confirmed that the party has initiated disciplinary action against some of the functionaries and they have been given a week’s time to reply to the notices.

A large number of lower rung BJP functionaries in Kumaon from various cells of the party have tendered their resignation from the various cells of the party. They have said that like Koshiyari,they also want to work among the people to strengthen the party at the grass root level.
