‘Rath prabharis’: Ex-IAS officer, activist write to President

In an open letter to President Droupadi Murmu Tuesday, retired IAS officer E A S Sarma and co-founder of Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) Jagdeep Chhokar appealed to her to intervene in stopping the government’s plan to use bureaucrats for publicising its achievements through a “yatra”.

They cited a Department of Personnel instruction that asked all ministries to nominate senior officers as “district rath prabharis” for the “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra”.
