Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir is finally open for public: When and how you can visit

The Ram temple will remain open for the public between 7 am and 11 am, as well as between 2 pm and 7 pm.

The doors of the Ram temple for Ram Lalla’s darshan were thrown open for the general public on Tuesday, a day after the Pran Pratishtha ceremony was held in Ayodhya in a grand celebratory event led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and attended by eminent dignitaries from various fields.

On Tuesday morning, tight security was deployed after a large number of people queued up to visit the temple. According to reports, pilgrims started arriving at the gates as early as 3 am, although the official timing for the gates to open was 7 am. According to sources, authorities also faced problem due to lack of awareness among pilgrims not to carry bags or mobile phones inside.

🛩️ By Air

The nearest airports to Ayodhya are:

  • Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhya
  • Gorakhpur airport, also known as Mahayogi Gorakhnath Airport (118 km away)
  • Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, Lucknow (125 km away)
  • Visitors can also reach Ayodhya after landing at Prayagraj and Varanasi airports.

    🚆 By Train

    Faizabad and Ayodhya are the two major railway stations in the district. Regular trains are available to these stations from almost all major cities and towns.

    🛣️ By Road

    Services of Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation buses are available regularly. Buses are available from Lucknow, Delhi and Gorakhpur. Regular buses also ply from Varanasi and Prayagraj among other as per schedule.
