Vande Bharat Sleeper train launch:Indian Railways (IR) is likely to roll out the country’s first Vande Bharat Sleeper train this month. With a focus on comfort, speed and latest technology, the Vande Bharat Sleeper trains have been planned for long and medium distance journey. This new train will further transform the rail travel in the country.
Vande Bharat Sleeper launch date
Last month, speaking at an event in Gujarat’s Bhavnagar, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the Vande Bharat Sleeper train will be introduced soon. “Vande Sleeper is coming very soon – in September,” he said. However, the exact date of Vande Bharat Sleeper train launch is not yet known.
In a written reply in Rajya Sabha on July 25, 2025, Railway Minister stated that the first rake of Vande Bharat sleeper train is undergoing commissioning. “The first prototype of Vande Bharat Sleeper trainset has already been manufactured. Based on the extensive field trials and the experience gained therein, the first rake of Vande Bharat sleeper train is undergoing commissioning,” the minister said.

Vande Bharat Sleeper train route
The route for India’s first Vande Bharat Sleeper train has not yet been finalised. The final decision will be taken by the Railway Board.
