HAU Convocation: Students told to wear white during event

The university would celebrate its 24th convocation ceremony on July 26, in which degree of Graduate, Master's and Doctorate would be awarded to students.

The Chaudhary Charan Singh, Haryana Agriculture University (HAU), Hisar, has decided on a white dress code for the students coming to get their degrees for the convocation function instead of conventional gowns.

The university would celebrate its 24th convocation ceremony on July 26, in which degree of Graduate, Master’s and Doctorate would be awarded to students who passed out their academics between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2014.

“Students would be awarded degrees in the set dress code which is required to be arranged by them at their own level,” a spokesperson of the university said on Wednesday.

As per the prescribed dress code, “Male students are required to wear white shirt, white trousers, black shoes, black belt and white socks. Similarly, women are required to wear white saree with red border, white blouse with short sleeves and black shoes or black sandals. In specific situation, women are also allowed to wear white shirt with red border, white salwar and black shoes or sandals instead of sarees,” the spokesperson said.
