Brar quits Cong, praises BJP, RSS

While he was non-committal about joining another political party, Brar praised the BJP.

Former Congress Working Committee (CWC) member Jagmeet Singh Brar Monday announced his resignation from primary membership of the party he served for 35 years. He also praised the BJP and the RSS, while hitting hit out at the Congress and the Akalis.

Reading out his resignation letter, Brar said, “There is a limit to everything, also to the amount of humiliation any respectable mind is ready to tolerate. And there is also a limit to the wait one can generously grant to get the punishment revoked.” He added, “In the recent past, there have been a number of dishonourable sanctions against me for speaking my mind. I have waited long enough to see them revoked.”

Brar was accompanied by his brother Ripjit Brar and Congress leaders Gurdas Girdhar, Manjit Singh Jhalbuti and Vijay Sathi, who also resigned from the party.

While he was non-committal about joining another political party, Brar praised the BJP. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was doing a tremendous job of getting Punjab rid of the drug menace. Besides, he said, the RSS was doing great work at the national level.
