The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) at a rally in Adampur on Friday said that there would be no farmer suicides in Punjab if the people voted it to power in the Punjab 2017 elections.
The rally was attended by party state convenor Sucha Singh Chhotepur and Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann.
The party blamed the policies of the Punjab government for the farmer deaths. They came that as many as 3000 farmers had committed suicide in the past nine years under SAD-BJP rule in the state.

“There is misrule in the state,” said Chottepur. “Everyday one or two farmers are committing suicide in state. The Punjab government is providing compensation to the tune of Rs 50, Rs 80 and Rs100 in Bathinda where whitefly had damaged cotton crops.”
He said that this was not a mockery of farmers but a crime against them.
“If we come to power no farmer will commit suicide. We will take care of each and every farmer,” he said
Bhagwant Mann said that the government disrespected soldiers in the Dina Nagar attack.
“In Dina Nanagr attack an SP got Rs 25 lakh grant while a jawan gets just Rs 3 lakh grant,” Mann claimed. He reached out to the police too, saying that they would have fixed duty hours.
