Launching an attack on Congress, Union Home Minister Amit Shah urged people during an election campaign in Madhya Pradesh to “press the BJP button (on the EVM) with so much force that the electric shock is felt in Italy” and alleged that Congress has “insulted the Indian culture”.
He also targeted Congress for criticising the abrogation of Article 370. “Rahul Baba used to say if Article 370 is removed then blood will flow through the streets of the Valley. But let alone blood no one dared to throw a stone,” Shah said.
Shah had addressed campaign rallies in Manawar, Badnawar, Depalpur and Dhar where he underlined that the Assembly election was about deciding “whether, in the next five years, the reins of MP and that of Bharat will remain in the hands of Rahul Gandhi’s Congress or Modiji’s BJP.”
Shah listed Ram temple, Kashi Vishwanath Corridor and Mahakaal Lok Corridor among others that highlight the importance BJP gives to religious places and Indian culture.
Taking a jibe at dynastic politics, Shah said in Gujarat, there is a saying “teen tigda kaam bigda”.
“Three are three families in Madhya Pradesh – one is Kamal Nath, who wants Nakul Nath to be the CM, Digvijay Singh also wants his son to be the CM, and Sonia Gandhi wants Rahul baba to become the PM. Tell me, those who are in politics for their sons and daughters, can they do any good for Madhya Pradesh?”
