Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the new Parliament complex on Sunday as a "harbinger of not just India's development but that of the world". He later tweeted, "May this iconic building be a cradle of empowerment, igniting dreams and nurturing them into reality. May it propel our great nation to new heights of progress." Speaking for the first time in the new Lok Sabha, PM Modi said, "Some dates are etched in history. May 28, 2023 is one such day." "It is our good fortune that we have been able to restore the pride of the holy 'Sengol'. Whenever proceedings start in this House, the 'Sengol' will inspire us," Modi added. Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister had installed the sceptre next to the Lok Sabha Speaker's chair.
