Here’s the first look of the Rs 75 coin, postage stamp released by PM Modi to mark new Parliament’s opening

The coin has circular shape with a diameter of 44 millimetres, and  its composition is a quaternary alloy — 50 percent silver, 40 percent copper, 5 percent nickel, 5 percent zinc, the Finance Ministry had noted in a statement earlier.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a special commemorative stamp and a Rs 75 coin to mark the opening of the Parliament, at the event held in the Lok Sabha chamber of the new building.

The coin has a diameter of 44 mm and is composed of quaternary alloy — 50 per cent silver, 40 per cent copper, 5 per cent nickel, 5 per cent zinc, the Finance Ministry had said in a statement earlier.

“The face  of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the center, with the legend ““सत्यमेि जयते” (Satyameva Jayate) inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word “भारत” (Bharat) in Devnagri script and on the right periphery the word “INDIA” in English,” the notification stated.

The notification further added that the opposite side of the coin will display an image of the parliament complex. The inscription “Sansad Sankul” will be written in Devanagari script on the upper periphery while the words “Parliament Complex” in English on the lower periphery of the coin.
