Both Houses adjourned till April 1. On Friday, just before the Lower House adjourned briefly, the Indian Ports Bill 2025 was introduced. Meanwhile, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board has called on Muslims to wear a black armband on their right hand during Juma prayers on the last Friday of Ramzan as a protest against the Waqf (Amendment) Bill.

Opposition approaches Om Birla: On Thursday, the Opposition approached Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, flagging the “denial of opportunity” for Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi to speak in the House. The leaders jointly handed over a letter to the Speaker protesting “disregard for Parliament and parliamentary procedures by the government” in the functioning of the House. Sources said the Opposition’s letter raises 12 key issues, including the non-appointment of a Deputy Speaker in the Lok Sabha and the government’s “disregard” for Business Advisory Committee (BAC) decisions.
