During the protests, volunteers guarding territories dominated by the Kuki-Zo community abandoned their sentry posts and enforced road blockades. The situation was diffused after a meeting between the representatives of UTV, ITLF, and Kuki Inpi leaders.

Reacting to Sunday’s vandalism, the ITLF claimed that the same armed group that attacked its office also attempted to murder its spokesperson Ginza Vualzong at his residence the same night.
