No partition had Bose been there, says Ajit Doval
Delivering the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Memorial Lecture organised by the Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India Doval said the history has been “very unkind” to Netaji.

Muslim League leader Muhammad Ali Jinnah had said that he can accept only one leader, that is Subhas Chandra Bose, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval said on Saturday, adding that India would not have been partitioned had Bose been around. Delivering the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Memorial Lecture organised by the Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India Doval said the history has been “very unkind” to Netaji. “India would not have been partitioned if Subhas Bose was there. Jinnah said, ‘I can accept only one leader that is Subhas Bose’,” Doval said.
Highlighting the initiatives taken by the NDA government for recognising Bose’s contribution, Doval said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been somebody who was very keen to resurrect it. I also feel happy that I was associated with it to some extent wherein India Gate we had the statue of Subhas Chandra Bose. There is the war memorial of the Indian Army. That, he is the one who is leading it and beyond that is something all the names of the Indian soldiers who have died in post-Independence period. The old India Gate is for people who died for the British. They are the ones who died for India…”
