The second day of the two-day winter session of the Sikkim Assembly which saw the passage of a bill and two amendment bills ended in less than 15 minutes. The entire proceedings on both days lasted less than 22 minutes making it probably the shortest assembly session ever to be held in the country. The house unanimously passed the new Sikkim Lokayuktas Bill,Bill No. 21 of 2010 and the two amendment bills,the Sikkim Regulation of Societies,Associations and Other Voluntary Organisations (Amendment) Bill and the Registration of Companies (Amendment) Bill,Sikkim. They were tabled yesterday by Chief Minister Pawan Chamling yesterday without any discussion. The session was also very brief. The vote of thank given by Chamling,the leader of the house took less than four minutes. He said that the bills passed in the two days would help secure the future of the Sikkimese people.
