Sunil Joshi murder case: Chargesheet against Pragya filed

It contains statements of 124 witnesses and also has 89 annexures.

The chargesheet said that Pragya confessed before the Dewas Police in Mumbai that Joshi was killed because he misbehaved with her and his overall behaviour was something not expected by a woman.

She also told the police that Joshi was misusing the money that came to him from the party and other sources.

Besides Pragya Thakur,the chargesheet names Anand Raj Kataria,Harshad Solanki,Vasudev Parmar and Ramchandra Patel as accused in the case.

All of them have been charged under sections 302,120B,201 and 34 of the IPC and sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.

Two other accused in the case Mehul and Rakesh,both hailing from Gujarat,are still absconding.

Pragya told police that Joshi was murdered as she also feared that if the police arrested him,then conspiracies with regard to other bomb blasts in the country would get revealed,the chargesheet said.

Joshi was also eliminated as he had ill-treated the Best Bakery case absconders — Harshad,Mehul,Rakesh and Ustad – who were hiding with Joshi in Dewas,it said.

The chargesheet also claims that on the day of Joshi’s murder,Pragya was in Indore and her mobile call records showed that she was in constant touch with the alleged murderers.

It also said that Joshi’s murder was planned and he was shot by Harshad Solanki in the presence of others at an abandoned brick kiln where he was called.

After the murder,Harshad and his associates left in a vehicle provided by Anand Raj Kataria.

Pragya was arrested after Joshi’s relatives revealed that she had come to the house of one of them on the day of the murder and had taken away his suitcase.

She was also seen at the hospital where Joshi’s body was taken.

Joshi,whose name also figured in the Mecca Masjid,Samjhauta and Malegaon blast cases was killed on December 29,2007 in Dewas.

He was also involved in the murder of Congress leader,Pyar Singh Ninama of Khurda-Khurdi village in Mhow tehsil in 2003.
