Union Home Minister P Chidambaram expressed concern over the situation in Naxal-hit Gadchiroli district in Maharashtra despite presence of Central Security Forces to deal with the menace.
I am not happy with the situation in Gadchiroli. We have pumped in a lot of forces,we have provided helicopter. Yet I think the situation in Gadchiroli is a matter of concern, he said on Saturday.
I will talk to the chief minister, with a request to pay special attention to the situation, he told reporters.
Naxal violence has declined all over the country. Yet it is unacceptably high. It has to decline further. We must contain it,we must contain it in Gadchiroli too, he said.
The Home Minister said he was monitoring the Mumbai blasts investigation closely, along with the chief minister.
In Delhi blasts case,as I said, there has been significant progress. Three people have been arrested, three have been identified as wanted accused….we are confident that we will be able to apprehend them, he said.
