She refers to allotment of 11 out of 33 Assembly tickets to Goa's leading Cong politicians, their kin.

Deprecating rise of political dynasties, activist Medha Patkar today suggested “one family, one elected representative” cap in politics.

“This is the only way we can control this dangerous trend. I know this trend has reached Goa too,” Patkar, founder of National Alliance for People’s Movement, told reporters.

Patkar said till the time such a cap was fixed “people have to decide whether they want two, three or just one person from a family elected.”

The noted social activist said NAPM was also looking at the possibility of having one member each of the two sexes as elected representatives in every constituency so that women got their due share in power.

In the tiny coastal state going to poll on March 3,the Congress has allotted 11 tickets to former chief ministers Churchill Alemao and Pratapsinh Rane, ministers Ravi Naik and Atanasio Monserratte, besides MLA Pandurang Madkaikar and their kin.
