Khurshid says case against Raju to gather speed now

There will be no excuse to stall matters now. That is the good thing about his bail.

Corporate Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid today exuded confidence that the Satyam fraud case will pick up pace now, with the prime accused and founder chairman Ramalinga Raju appearing before a Hyderabad court.

Raju had appeared for the first time in a local court earlier this week, where he is being prosecuted in a Rs 14,000 crore case of financial mismanagement filed by the CBI,after being given bail by the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

Khurshid, however, cautioned that the case should not be pre-judged.

“With Raju appearing before the court, let’s hope the matters will now proceed faster. There will be no excuse to stall matters now. That is the good thing about his bail,” Khurshid told reporters on the sidelines of an Assocham event here.

“Let’s not judge things and let the judges do their work,” he said.

The former Satyam Chairman, arrested on January 9 last year on charges of a multi-crore scam at the company, was granted bail last week.
